Calendar Sync in Outlook Classic (Business-Class Email)

Calendar Sync in Outlook Classic for Windows

A large benefit to having our Business-Class email is the ability to have your Calendar sync to all of your devices.

There is not a great native sync option between Outlook and our Business-Class email, but there is an Outlook plugin that can be installed to sync your calendar to Outlook.

Download the Outlook Plugin

With the opensource (free) plugin called Outlook CalDav Synchronizer, you can sync your calendar to Outlook.

1. Download the Plugin here: https://caldavsynchronizer.org/download-2/

2. Click on the large blue download button

3. It will download a compressed zip folder, once the download is complete extract the folder

4. Click on the setup file in the folder

5. Click Next

6. Set the settings for the program to what is stated in A & B and click Next

A. Leave the Folder path alone, the default is fine

B. When selecting who to install the program for, select Just me

7. You will get a security warning asking if you want to make changes or install an unknown program, click Yes

8. It will automatically install the program. Once you get the message saying "Installation Complete" click Close

9. This program is now installed and automatically added to Outlook and will appear on the Outlook Classic top menu.

 



 

Setting Up Calendar Sync

1. Open Outlook and navigate to your inbox

2. Click on the new tab called CalDav Synchronizer

3. Click on Synchronization Profiles. This will open up a new window. This window sometimes will hide behind Outlook, so if you find you the window is gone, it might just be hidden behind other windows on your screen. 

4. Click on the Green Plus icon

5. Make sure Generic CalDav/CardDav is selected, then click Ok

6. Enter in the calendar details

A. Type in a name, we recommend either "Calendar Sync" or "[your name] Calendar"

B. Click on the three dots, select Calendar (this computer only), click OK

C. Check the box for Synchronize items immediately after change

D. Paste in your CalDAV URL from your webmail

E. Type in your Email Address as the username

F. Type in your email password

G. Type in your email address

H. Click on Test or discover settings. If you entered in your email address and password correct, you will see the following H 1-3 steps. If you get an error message, see below. 

H (1). Ensure your name is highlighted blue, click OK. After you 


H (2). You will the see a message saying that the connection test was successful. Click OK

H (3). You will notice that the DAV URL has changed to a longer URL, that is expected and supposed to happen. 

I. Keep the Synchronization mode as Outlook & Server (Two-Way)

J. Set the Synchronization interval to 5 from the dropdown list. By setting it to 5, it keeps your calendar updated within 5 minutes of the server, and keep the processes on Outlook down as well.

K. Click OK

7. Your calendar sync is now set up. Depending on what is on your calendar, it may take a few minutes for your events to sync over. 

8. You can view your calendar by clicking on the Calendar Icon, located on the left menu

 

 

Find your CalDAV URL from Webmail

1. Log into your webmail, either through mail.yourdomain.com or by login.emailarray.com, and enter in your email address and password.

2. Click on the circle with your initials in it, located in the upper right hand corner

3. Click on My account

4. Click on Synchronization, typically located at the very bottom of the menu

5. Check the box to Allow delete via Synchronization

6. Copy the CalDAV URL, and paste it somewhere safe for use in the Setting Up the Calendar instructions

7. Click Save at the bottom of the window. It will reload your webmail tab/browser window.

 



Error Messages:

It is possible that you may run into an error message along the way. These are common error messages you might run across. If you run into other error messages, please let us know, so we can help you.

  • Response Status Code error Message:

Error Message Meaning: Either your email address or password was entered incorrect in step 6 F, of the Setting Up Calendar Sync instructions

Resolution: Double check your Email Address in step 6, field F & G, and re-enter your password.
